LOCKPORT, IL — A reported barricade incident late Monday night came to a peaceful resolution, Lockport police said Tuesday morning.
Lockport police were called Monday at 10:36 p.m. to the 1000 block of E. 7th Street, for a report of a 24-year-old in mental health crisis. Police said the man was seen to be armed, was hostile with officers on their arrival, and was damaging his property inside the home.
The man was observed as having a pellet gun and several knives, police said, but was alone inside the home and did not threaten officers, said Deputy Police Chief Ron Huff.

Officers were able to get the man to voluntarily exit the home, Huff said, and he was taken by the Lockport Township Fire Protection District to Silver Cross Hospital for both medical and mental health treatment. The man had cut himself several times during the course of damaging his property, Huff said.
Will County Sheriff’s Department and Joliet Police assisted in the call.
