Lockport Central Campus On Track To Open For New School Year
The campus is on target to open for the first day of school on Aug. 19.
LOCKPORT, IL — At the Monday meeting of the Lockport Township High School Board of Education, Superintendent Bob McBride gave an update on construction at Central Campus.
Central has been closed to students since last fall, when a ceiling collapse occurred in one of the classrooms. Further inspection showed that several ceilings needed to be replaced to make the campus safe. LTHS freshmen finished the school year at Lincoln-Way North campus in Frankfort.
McBride said the school is still on target to reopen on Aug. 19, the first day of school for students.

"If you drive by Central, there is an army of trades there right now," he said.
Masonry and carpentry work is being done before the ceilings can be closed up, McBride added.
