Lockport Council Approves Playground Design Plans
The new playground would be just south of the current Heritage Village.
LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Lockport City Council approved a proposal for playground design services, just south of the current Heritage Village.
The proposal is for $74,000 with V3 Companies, Ltd.
According to council documents, the City has been working for several years with the Lockport Women's Club to create the playground. Last year, the City applied for a state grant, seeking $348,907 as a 50 percent match for the playground.

Funding from the City's 50 percent match would come from a donation from the Lockport Women's Club, and cell tower sales funds.
The City was awarded the grant for the project in May, and is looking to move forward with the playground plans.
