Lockport Man Charged With Murder, 1 Year After Wife's Shooting Death

LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man was booked into the Will County jail on three counts of felony murder Thursday, nearly one year after his wife died of a gunshot wound.

Eric Strasser, 62, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of wife Rosy Strasser, 51, the Herald-News reported.

Rosy Strasser was pronounced dead just before 1 p.m. May 1, 2024, in the couple's home in the 900 block of McKinley Court.

At the time of her death, Lockport police told Patch they were investigating the circumstances of her death, and that her manner of death had not yet been determined.

Will County court records show that Eric Strasser filed for divorce on April 29, 2024, just two days before Rosy Strasser's death.

Eric Strasser was arrested Thursday afternoon. He is due in Will County court on Monday morning, according to jail records.
