From Nov. 21 through Dec. 2, officers will be participating in the "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and local agencies to help keep holiday travel safe, according to a news release from the department. From Nov. 21 through Dec. 2, officers will be participating in the “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns.

During this period, officers will be watching closely for:
• Seat-belt violations
• Speeding
• Distracted driving
• Impaired driving (alcohol, drugs, and cannabis)

“Thanksgiving brings more vehicles, longer trips and more festivities,” police said. “Seat belts are one of the simplest and most effective ways to save your life in a crash. Please buckle up every trip, every time — and plan a sober ride before your celebrations begin. If you drink or use cannabis, don’t drive.”
