Lockport Police Make 1 DUI Arrest During Labor Day Enforcement

LOCKPORT, IL — After its impaired driving enforcement efforts over Labor Day weekend, the Lockport Police Department said it made one arrest for driving under the influence. Additionally, 71 seat belt citations were issued, with 22 occurring during nighttime hours.
Police said that other citations and arrests included 27 speeding citations, five distracted driving citations, 52 other moving/equipment citations and 1 suspended driving arrest.
“Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we helped to make our roads safer and spread the word about the risks of impaired driving – ‘It’s not a game,’” police said in a news release.

Lockport Police Department collaborated with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across the state for the Illinois Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High Get a DUI” campaign.
