Lockport Teens Can Work Out For Free All Summer At Planet Fitness

The national fitness chain is offering a high school summer pass that allows students to use local gyms without any fees through August 31.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport-area high school students who are looking to stay in shape this summer can do so without worrying about paying for a gym membership.

Planet Fitness, including the location in Lockport, is offering teens between the ages of 14 and 19 a free membership that will run through the end of August, the national fitness chain announced. Sign-ups begin on May 16.

Local students are eligible for the free High School Summer Pass which just requires teens to sign up with a parent or guardian. Sign-ups are taking place online and at Planet Fitness’s local clubs. The local club is located at 1025 E. 9th St.

Students who signed up for the summer pass will be eligible for a $500 scholarship, which will be awarded and one prize will be handed to one teen in each state, Planet Fitness said. There will also be one $5,000 grand prize scholarship that is awarded as part of the promotion.
