Lockport Township Students Advance To Drafting, Design State Meet
Local students made a strong showing at the regional championships in which they competed in individual and team architectural competitions.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township High School will be well represented at the upcoming Illinois Design Educators Association state championships after advancing from the recent regional competition where 37 Lockport Township students participated.
Design and drafting students from the high school competed at Joliet Junior College in computer-aided design and drafting in the JJC region, which is the second-largest in the state.
In the computer-aided design competition, students were assigned a drawing problem in which they drew and solved a problem within a two-hour timeframe. In the team division, students were given a problem to solve in January and then presented their solutions at the recent regional competition. The competition was judged by architects, engineers, college instructors, and college students.
