Lockport's Big Run Wolf Ranch Seeks Donations For Animal Care

The not-for-profit educational facility specializing in North American wildlife is seeking pet food, toys, blankets, towels and other items.

LOCKPORT, IL ­­— Big Run Wolf Ranch, the Lockport-based, not-for profit educational facility that specializes in North American wildlife, is still nearly two months from opening for the season but is in need of several items as it prepares for an April open house.

The ranch, which is located at 14857 Farrell Rd., posted on its Facebook page that it is in need of paper towels, towels of any size, stiff bristled brooms and dustpans, Lam’s dry kitten chow (purple bag), canned kitten food, newspapers, fleece baby blankets and new or used dog and cat toys.

Items may be dropped off any day of the week between 10 a.m.-3 p.m., officials from the facility said in the post.

The ranch is only open to the public on family days, the first of which will be April 30 at an open house that will feature seven wolves, a Siberian tiger, black bear, cougar, lynx, skunks and much more.

The event will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and admission is $8. All donations to the ranch and are tax deductible and help with the care of the animals at the facility.
