LTHS Board Approves Prom Contract With Museum Of Science And Industry

LOCKPORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the LTHS Board of Education approved a contract with the Museum of Science and Industry for Prom 2025.
The estimated cost of the contract, which assumes 700 attendees, is $99,064.96, according to Board documents. The contract is student-funded from prom ticket sales.
Board documents state that students have expressed a preference to keep holding prom at the museum, although some have concerns over transportation to Chicago.

If needed, the District will look into the feasibility of transporting students. For the school's 2024 prom, 932 prom tickets were sold. Tickets were $135 each.
Board documents state that the museum is one of the only venues in the Chicago area that can accommodate a prom of Lockport's size, which can be up to 1,000 students.

Before holding prom at the museum, LTHS last held prom at Pheasant Run about five years ago.
