LTHS Campuses Safe After Threatening Call: District

The District received a threatening call and was advised by Lockport Police to respond with a lockdown, according to a District message.

LOCKPORT, IL — Both Lockport Township High School campuses are safe after a "threatening call" on Friday, the District said.

The District received a threatening call and was advised by Lockport Police to respond with a lockdown, according to a message sent to the community.

Lockport Police said a call was made with a threat to Lockport Central, and the caller changed the location to Lockport East during the call. Both campuses were placed on lockdown until officers could search the building.

"We have teams of police who have moved through both buildings and believe that our buildings are safe," the district said.

Police said the threat was deemed to be unsubstantiated. The schools continued to have a police presence the rest of the day.

Police continue to investigate the incident and are attempting to identify the caller.
