'Mongo Mania' Planned To Celebrate McMichael's Hall Of Fame Induction
"Mongo Mania" is planned on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., event organizers told Patch.
HOMER GLEN, IL — As the Hall of Fame prepares to bring Steve McMichael's gold jacket and bust to Homer Glen for his induction, a local celebration is also planned to celebrate the Bears legend.
"Mongo Mania" is planned on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., event organizers told Patch. The celebration will be held at Kingston Hills Park.
There will be live entertainment, food trucks and raffles.

"We are having a special event in Homer Glen that'll stretch from Steve's house to the park," event organizers said. The event will be hosted by Zurales Grand Events.
Organizers said the event is a celebration for Steve, but also a benefit for ALS.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame president will travel to Steve McMichael's home on Saturday since McMichael is unable to travel to Canton due to his health.
McMichael, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2021, will instead be presented with his gold jacket and bust by HOF President Jim Porter at his home in Homer Glen.
