New Artwork, Native Garden Debut In Lockport

The Summer Art Series Committee has organized several events for this summer.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Summer Arts Series Committee will hold several grand opening exhibits on Saturday, with lots of things to check out in downtown Lockport.

At 9 a.m., the grand opening will be held for Bloom Garden, at 13th and State streets. The native garden will offer eco-education and tours.

Wings Alley Art will open at 9:30 a.m., in the alley between 1014-1020 S. State St., according to the City. You can take a selfie with wings created by local artists.

The outdoor art installation grand opening will kick off at 10 a.m., on the I&M Canal Trail at 10th Street. The artwork is by ROIZ.

Lastly, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can fly a kite at Dellwood Park athletic fields, 1811 S. Lawrence Ave. Kites will be available from Chicago Kite, and Kona Ice and Crumbl Cookie will be on-site.
