No One Injured After Fire At Panduit In Lockport: Fire District
The fire was reported at 12:48 a.m. Sunday at Panduit, at 16530 W. 163rd St., in Lockport.
LOCKPORT, IL — No employees were injured after a fire at Panduit Corporation in Lockport early Sunday, according to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District.
The fire was reported at 12:48 a.m. Sunday at Panduit, at 16530 W. 163rd St., in Lockport.
The fire district said that crews arrived and were directed by Lockport Police to the west side of the building, where a fire was reported in the production area.

Crews began to investigate as interior conditions made it difficult to locate the fire, the fire district said. Firefighters were able to locate the affected unit and began extinguishing the fire. The fire was quickly contained, preventing any further extension.
Employees on the scene were all able to evacuate the building safely and there were no injuries reported, according to the fire district.

The incident was elevated to the "general alarm" level, which brought in equipment and personnel from Bolingbrook, Homer, Lemont, and Northwest Homer, to assist with covering the remainder of the fire district.
The building was turned back over to maintenance, and the affected unit remained shut down, the fire district said.
