Shooting Leads To Battery, Gun Charges For Homer Glen Man, 28: Sheriff
The shooting happened Thursday, Feb. 22 in the 12000 block of Longmeadow Lane. One man suffered a gunshot wound to the back.

HOMER GLEN, IL — A 28-year-old Homer Glen man faces several charges after police said he shot another man in the back Thursday night, Will County Sheriff's police said.
Sheriff's police were called just after 10 p.m. Thursday for a report of a shooting in the 12000 block of Longmeadow Lane. The victim—a 25-year-old Hickory Hills man—had fled in a vehicle, and was waiting for police in a church parking lot at 167th Street and Wolf Road in Orland Park.
A witness indicated that the victim and another man had argued inside a car parked in the offender's driveway, according to reports. The witness stated that the suspect began to strike the victim with the pistol and fired one shot.

The victim was taken to a local area hospital for treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back.
Responding Will County Sheriff’s Office police set up a perimeter around the residence and were able to communicate with those inside to exit the residence.

Suspect Dominic Chiarelli was taken into custody without incident, police said. Chiarelli and additional occupants of the residence were transported to the Will County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Complex for interviews.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and located a Taurus G3 9mm handgun inside. Evidence recovered at the scene indicated that the ammunition used in this shooting was identical to the ammunition inside the weapon recovered.
Chiarelli was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, battery, and no valid FOID card. Chiarelli was handed over to the Will County Adult Detention Facility while he awaits his initial court appearance Feb. 24 at 9 a.m.
