LOCKPORT, IL — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado occurred in Lockport during Monday night's severe weather. A survey crew found a path of damage from Crest Hill to Lockport, but was unable to complete their survey, NWS said.
According to the weather service, the findings are preliminary, but the tornado seems to have started just west of Weber Road, cutting over Prairie Bluff Preserve and Lockport Prairie Nature Preserve, crossing South State Street in Lockport, staying just north of Dellwood Park, and continuing east. The tornado crossed through Broken Arrow Golf Course, before ending at Interstate 355.

Storm surveys will be done west of Weber Road on Wednesday to see if the tornado started earlier in its path.
