Victorian Village Honored by Village of Homer Glen
Victorian Village recognized for first-in-the-state Memory Care certification from Joint Commission

Victorian Village’s Assisted Living center, the Victorian Inn, became the first AL community in the state of Illinois to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Memory Care Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. Using standards developed in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, this certification helps demonstrate Victorian Village’s commitment to provide high quality and safe care for people in assisted living communities with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. They were also given accreditation for their Assisted Living community.
Last month, Victorian Village was recognized by the Village of Homer Glen Municipal Government and Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike for achieving this honor.
Victorian Village underwent a rigorous onsite survey in August 2023. During the visit, a Joint Commission surveyor evaluated compliance with related certification standards including care coordination, staff knowledge and competency, activity programming based on abilities, behavior management, and a safe and supportive physical environment. During the survey, the surveyor conducted onsite observations and interviews.

Victorian Village is a Providence Life Services community. For the past 90 years, Providence has been providing senior living solutions, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, long-term skilled nursing care, short-term post-acute rehabilitation, home healthcare, and hospice services.
