White Oak Library To Host The 'Golden Age Of Radio' Virtual Event

Steve Darnall presents this virtual program, using sound clips from some of radio's best- known mystery and horror programs of the past.

LOCKPORT, IL — Steve Darnall of Nostalgia Digest and the “Those Were the Days” radio program presents, Lights Out, Everybody: Mystery and Horror During the Golden Age of Radio.

Using sound clips from some of radio’s best-known mystery and horror programs of the past (including Escape, Inner Sanctum and Lights Out), Darnall illustrates how radio could truly be a “Theater of the mind” using music, voices, and sounds to create indelible — and often frightening — “pictures.”

The program will be presented live on Zoom and will take place Thursday, Jan. 21 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
