At the Homer Glen event, nearly all types of electronics and household chemicals, hazardous materials and liquids are accepted. There is a limit of two TVs and 15 gallons of paint per vehicle.
“These are some of our most popular events of the year, offering an opportunity for residents to responsibly dispose of household items and help keep items out of landfills,” said Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “This is a great time to clean out the closet or garage to find those unwanted items for recycling or reuse.”

Coinciding with the Fall schedule, Will County has also launched a “Caps On” campaign to bring attention to the importance of recycling plastic bottles, tubs, and jugs. The campaign is aimed at raising awareness that caps are allowed on plastic items when they are recycled, a reversal of outdated education that instructed people to add them to the garbage, according to the county.
