Banks, 29, was identified as the victim of the slaying on Wednesday by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Banks was found in an alley in the 14400 block of South Wallace in Riverdale just after 3:30 a.m. on December 9. Riverdale Police were called to the area for the report of a structure fire and found a woman’s body.

Police said that she had been stabbed and then set on fire. Police initially asked for help identifying the victim who was not publicly identified until Wednesday. Police said at the time of the discovery of the body that the woman had been stabbed before being set on fire.

Police said that the woman was found wearing a very ornate wristwatch and had a large single-colored tattoo on her upper right arm. The tattoo depicts a pair of praying hands wrapped in a rosary with the word “faith” written underneath.

Riverdale Police did not provide information about the arrest of the three suspects in announcing charges.
