4 Children Taken From Riverdale Home Found Safe, Suspect Still At Large: Police

Riverdale police are still searching for Austin Bell, who is driving a 2010 silver Acura MDX, with an Illinois plate, FE 60619.

Update, 11:10 a.m.: Riverdale police said all four children were found safe and are being medically evaluated as a precaution. Authorities are still searching for Austin Bell.


RIVERDALE, IL — An Amber Alert was issued Saturday morning by the Riverdale Police Department for four children. Police are describing it as a “domestic-related kidnapping.”

Around 1:30 a.m., Riverdale police responded to a report of a domestic-related kidnapping in the 13600 block of Lowe Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, Austin Bell, who is not the children’s father, took a vehicle that did not belong to him containing four children.

Despite an extensive search by Riverdale police, the children’s mother and South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, Austin Bell and the children remain missing.

An Amber Alert was issued for the missing children and vehicle. Bell is a male black, driving a 2010 silver Acura MDX, with an Illinois plate, FE 60619.

The suspect, Bell, has brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-foot-7 and weighs 215 pounds.
