4 Killed In Harvey Train Crash Identified

A Dodge Durango was hit after the driver tried to beat the train, officials said.

HARVEY, IL — Four people are dead after a freight train hit an SUV early Wednesday morning in Harvey, officials said.

Officials told ABC Chicago that the driver of a Dodge Durango tried to beat the train at the crossing at 155th and Halsted streets around 2 a.m.

The Durango caught fire after it was hit by a CSX freight train, police told NBC Chicago.

The four people killed were identified as Jeremy Robinson, 38, of Riverdale, and Chicago residents Xavier Moore, 24; Jada Moore, 40; and Tieasha Rush, 29, according to WGN.

"It doesn't make sense," Rush's father, Tyrone Rush, told the station. "She was a mom, she had a daughter (she was raising) and was just about to start a new job."

Everyone inside the vehicle was killed.
