90 Citations Issued In September Distracted Driving Enforcement Push: Flossmoor PD

Flossmoor police on Wednesday released the results of the distracted driving enforcement campaign in September.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Flossmoor Police Department announced that it issued 51 citations for hands-free traffic violations and 40 citations for other violations during September’s distracted driving enforcement campaign.

“Driver distraction is a persistent issue in our Village that can have life-altering consequences,” says Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle. “Issuing a citation is a proven way to get motorists to pay attention or pay the price. This safety campaign may be over, but we will continue our efforts to stop motorists from engaging in deadly behavior.”

The Flossmoor Police Department joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort. The distracted driving campaign was funded with federal highway safety funds, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
