Cancer Support Center To Host Annual Pink-A-Boo Walk Of Hope In Homewood
The walk is set for Sunday, Oct. 12, and includes a 5K, 1 mile, and a special 10-Step Survivor Walk at Homewood's Irwin Park.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A community walk set to honor individuals and families impacted by cancer returns to Homewood's Irwin Park on Oct. 12.
The Cancer Support Center invites the community to join its beloved Pink-A-Boo Walk of Hope, a festive and meaningful event that supports individuals and families affected by cancer. This year’s walk features a 5K, 1 mile, and a special 10-Step Survivor Walk, honoring the strength and resilience of cancer survivors.

More than 300 walkers are expected to participate in this uplifting morning of hope, healing, and togetherness. The event includes a children’s bounce house, a waffle & coffee truck, and fundraising incentives for teams and individuals. Local businesses along the route are encouraged to decorate, cheer, and celebrate as walkers pass by—making this a true community-wide show of support.

A few of the groups joining in the celebration include the Homewood-Flossmoor Cheerleaders, who will be cheering walkers on, and the local Girl Scout troop, bringing energy and encouragement along the route. Their presence, along with other community organizations, adds to the spirit of unity and support that defines the day.
All proceeds benefit the Cancer Support Center’s free programs and services, which provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to anyone affected by cancer.
