COVID-19 Case Positivity Increases In Homewood: CCDPH
Over 72 percent of Homewood has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood has had a recent increase in COVID-19 positivity, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
The health department's latest statistics on the virus show that 27 cases have been recorded in the village within this past week. According to the department, the percent change in confirmed cases in past 14 days is 27 percent in Homewood. Since the start of the pandemic, the village has had a total of 2,180 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the department reports.
More than half of the village has been inoculated with both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. According to the health department, 13,939, or 72 percent of Homewood residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine. People who are fully vaccinated with two doses include 11,537 or nearly 60 percent of Homewood residents. Over 18 thousand people live in Homewood, Census data shows.

Cook County in general has a 1.9 percent positivity rate. Since the start of the pandemic, 287,252 Cook County residents have tested positive for the virus, and 4,782 have died. The department reports that the county currently has a substantial community transmission level.
