Flossmoor Hosts Town Lightings Of Menorah, Kinara
The Village of Flossmoor invites residents to join.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Village of Flossmoor has plans to honor traditions of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, with community lightings of the menorah and kinara.
Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, starts at sundown on Dec. 7, and ends at nightfall on Dec. 15.
Kwanzaa, a secular festival observed by the Black culture from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, serves as a celebration of their cultural heritage and traditional values.

The community is invited to meet each day during Hanukkah—Dec. 7–15—to light the menorah. Those who celebrate Kwanzaa are also invited to join in the lighting of the kinara each night Dec. 26–Jan. 1. Both events take place at Flossmoor Park, 2523 Flossmoor Rd.
There are still slots open for people to sign up to light both the menorah and kinara.
