Flossmoor National Night Out, Touch-A-Truck Set For August 5

The event will feature the Flossmoor police, fire, and public works departments partnering for community engagement.

FLOSSMOOR, IL —The Village of Flossmoor police, fire and public works departments will join forces Tuesday, Aug. 5, for a local National Night Out and touch-a-truck event.

On Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 5-8 p.m. in the Village and IJP School parking lots, guests are invited to enjoy kids' games and refreshments, learn how police and fire departments use their specialized equipment, and explore the public works department vehicle fleet with a touch-a-truck experience.

The free event — sponsored by ComEd and Meijer — is a celebration of community and a chance to meet the dedicated members of local public safety departments.

Weather permitting, the event might also include a special visit from a medical helicopter.

Kids can also enjoy face painting provided by the H-F Girls Varsity Soccer Team and take part in Flossmoor's famous traditional water balloon toss.
