Guess How Many Homewood Street Lights, Win A Ride On Santa's Sleigh

The contest kicked off Nov. 6 and will run through Nov. 30.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood residents can win a ride on Santa's Sleigh in the Village's Holiday Lights parade—if they're lucky enough to make a winning guess.

The Village of Homewood announced its latest community contest on Monday, Nov. 6 in an effort to engage with Homewood residents and Homewood’s public safety departments. Residents are invited to guess the number of street lights in Homewood for a chance to win a holiday lights mug filled with goodies and an opportunity to ride in Santa’s Sleigh on the back of Wendy the Waste Truck in the Holiday Lights parade.

The street light contest will run from Nov. 6 until Nov. 30. The first person to correctly guess the number of street lights in Homewood will win. If there is no winner by November 30, the closest guess to the correct winner will win the prizes.

"This contest kicks off our holiday season at the Village of Homewood," said Communications & Engagement Specialist Antonia Steinmiller. "We wanted to tie in the contest with the Holiday Lights event and what better way than to give the winner a holiday lights mug and a ride in the parade in Santa’s Sleigh!"

The winner will be announced on Nov. 30 and will pick up their mug of goodies at the Holiday Lights festival on December 1. Up to six people will have the opportunity to ride in Santa’s Sleigh which is being donated by Homewood Disposal.
