Liz's Mindful Mondays: Weekly Reflections + Inspiration from the Heart of Serendipity Yoga and Wellness

Dear Reader,

Last Monday morning, Rachael found a small bird tangled in grass netting on her walk. She called me, and I drove over to meet her, unsure of what I would find or how I could help.

The bird was panicked, breathing heavily, and fluttering, but with patience and care, we worked together to gain its trust. In the end, all it took was cutting a single string—the one that tethered it to the ground—for it to fly free.

That moment reminded me that kindness often requires more than a good intention—it takes time, presence, and a willingness to stay when things feel delicate.

This week, look for a small moment where you can offer your time and attention to someone or something that needs it. Kindness isn’t always fast—it often blooms in the space you’re willing to hold open.

Try This | Kindness isn’t just something we offer to others—it’s a practice we can turn inward. Mindfulness gives us the space to notice our own needs, soften our inner voice, and meet ourselves with compassion rather than criticism. Pause once a day to ask yourself: What do I need right now? Then, if you can, honor it—whether it’s a glass of water, a few deep breaths, or simply a moment to rest. Kindness to yourself is the foundation for everything else.
