Homewood Farmers Market Expands And Celebrates Seniors With Free Ice Cream
Shoppers aged 55 and older will get a free scoop. Browse more vendors, ready-to-eat food options. First 50 seniors get free tote bag.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood invites the community to enjoy an expanded Homewood Farmers Market this Saturday, Aug. 23, with more vendors, ready-to-eat food options, and a special celebration in honor of National Senior Citizen Day.
In recognition of National Senior Citizen Day (Aug. 21), the Village is honoring and welcoming all seniors to the farmers market. Shoppers ages 55 and older will receive a free scoop of ice cream from Dip N’ Double and the first 50 seniors will also take home a complimentary Homewood Farmers Market tote bag.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together and celebrate our seniors while enjoying everything the market has to offer,” said Village President Rich Hofeld. “Between fresh produce, handmade goods, delicious food, and special giveaways, it’s a perfect summer Saturday in Homewood.”

The Farmers Market runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Martin Square, in downtown Homewood, and features a wide variety of fresh produce, baked goods, artisan items, and entertainment. With new ready-to-eat food vendors joining the lineup, guests can shop, snack, and stay for a fun-filled morning and afternoon of great shopping, cool treats, and lively community vibes.
