Homewood Farmers Sell Early Crops Ahead Of Annual Market

This weekend, some farmers will be selling fresh produce that was ready early due to warm weather.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A pop-up farmer's market is taking place in Homewood this weekend as warm weather resulted in some farmers harvesting crops earlier than expected, village officials said.

The pop-up market will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in Martin Square. Multiple vendors will have early produce ahead of the farmers market official May 28 start.

Last week, village officials were still looking for volunteers to help staff and support the market, which has been a staple in the village for over four decades.
