Homewood Police Hiring Crossing Guards For Upcoming School Year

Applications are available online. Pay is $125 a week.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood police are looking for parents willing to take on the vital role of crossing guard near three schools this upcoming year.

A crossing guard is responsible for directing school aged children, adults, and vehicular traffic at intersections to ensure the safety of all. The police department is seeking applicants for both full- and part-time.

Applicants should possess a high level or responsibility and reliability. Work hours generally are 30 minutes in the morning between 7 and 8:30 a.m., and 30 minutes in the afternoon between 2:25 and 3:40 p.m. The pay is $12.50 for each half-hour assignment, $125 a week.

Applicants are subject to a background investigation. Applications are available at the Village website or can be picked up at the Police Department.
