Homewood Police Shut Down Portion Of Halsted Street Monday
Halsted Street was shut down from 175th Street to Maple Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon, the site of a fatal crash Thursday.
HOMEWOOD, IL — Village officials closed down a stretch of Halsted Street Monday morning, authorities announced.
The roadway was closed at 10 a.m. and will remain closed from 175th Street to Maple Avenue until noon.
While Homewood police did not immediately respond to questions on why the street was being closed, officials said Friday they would be investigating a fatal traffic crash which took place in the same area Thursday.

A northbound detour will be available using Hoffman Way and 175th Street and a southbound detour will use Maple Avenue and southbound Hoffman Way.
