Homewood Votes To Recommend Updated Casino Parking Towers

Village officials said the parking garages will be built on Homewood land while the casino and hotels will be in East Hazel Crest.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood officials voted to approve a recommendation seeking approval for two parking garages to be part of the upcoming Wind Creek casino, which will be primarily built on East Hazel Crest land.

According to officials, the parking garages are expected to have three levels each with a capacity of over 600 cars each.

Of the 24-acre site, around 7 acres will be within Homewood property. While Wind Creek Hospitality, the casino operator whose south suburban plan was approved last year, waits for approval from the state on the new parking garages, Homewood and East Hazel Crest officials filed a traffic study to show major disruptions near the Homewood construction would be few and far between.
