Northern Illinois Community Initiatives (NICI) awarded a $100,000 Impact Grant to Proactive Community Services in Flossmoor. The grant will help sustain the employment solutions program and address program participants' barriers including providing gas/bus cards, healthcare services, childcare resources, etc. Impact Grants build up NICI’s mission to attract investment, mobilize partners and connect vital resources to underserved communities in Nicor Gas' service areas. NICI was founded in 2021 by Nicor Gas through a $20 million endowment from its parent company, Southern Company Gas.
