Senator Napoleon Harris III statement on Harvey shooting
The following statement about the mass shooting in Harvey, IL over this past weekend can be attributed to State Senator Napoleon Harris III

“As someone who takes pride in serving this community, I am appalled and deeply angered by the senseless violence that took place over the weekend, in the City of Harvey. When an innocent child is shot, it tears at the very foundation of who we are: a community rooted in family, faith and resilience. Every parent puts their child’s safety above all else, and those who carried out this violence showed a complete disregard for the values we hold dear. What happened was cowardly, devoid of respect, responsibility or any trace of moral character. Harvey is strong, and we will not allow those who choose destruction to define who we are or where we’re going.
“To the families reeling from this violence, know that you are not alone. My office stands ready to connect you with counseling, victim services and the support you need to begin healing. I grieve with you, and I will continue fighting for a safer future for every child and every family in our community."
