Liz's Mindful Mondays: Weekly Reflections + Inspiration from the Heart of Serendipity Yoga and Wellness

Dear Reader,
This past weekend brought a continuation of hot, humid weather with unpredictable storms and rain showers—conditions that could have easily spoiled the studio’s outdoor plans for yoga. But instead of letting the weather dampen our spirits, the yogis who joined me chose to adapt and appreciate what was, rather than longing for what could have been.
On Saturday, we found shelter under a pavilion, moving through yoga as a sudden rain shower softened the world around us (and even brought some deer out from the deeper parts of the woods). On Sunday, during our outdoor retreat at Pathways Arboretum, the cloud cover and occasional breeze carried with them a sense of ease and relief.

It doesn’t always work this way, but often, the way we look at a situation matters more than the situation itself. When we shift our perspective, even imperfect conditions can become part of a beautiful, memorable experience.
With warmth and care,
Liz

Inspire | “You carry the Earth inside your body. And on the days you do not believe yourself to be sacred, understand: the iron in your blood could have come from the heart of a volcano, and the water that makes you is borrowed from a hurricane.
You may forget, sometimes, how deeply connected you are to the trees outside your home. But there is a chance that an oak tree and you were both made from the bones of the same star.
Some may call that mundane—
but it is the closest thing to magic we will ever get.” — Nikita Gill
Read | I’ve been reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, and even though I’m only about a third of the way through, I’m already hooked. It’s an easy yet powerful read, packed with digestible research and real-life insights that remind us to stop controlling what others think—and start focusing on our own peace. I highly recommend adding this one to your summer reading list.

Try This | Feeling a bit of anxiety about entering a crowded space? Try this…Before entering, bring your awareness to your breath.
Inhale deeply, allowing your belly to soften and expand.
Exhale slowly, releasing tension from your shoulders, jaw, and heart center.
Now visualize a warm, radiant bubble forming around your body—starting just above your head and extending below your feet. This bubble can be clear, golden, violet, or any color that feels calming and strong to you.
Allow the bubble to welcome in love, peace, and grounded presence, while gently deflecting overstimulation, anxiety, and fear. Feel the boundary of your bubble—firm yet fluid, expansive yet protective. Silently remind yourself: "I am safe. I am centered."
