Stuart Lewis Deniston, 79, Formerly Of Flossmoor Passes Away
Stuart Lewis Deniston recently passed away peacefully from complications caused by Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Stuart Lewis Deniston passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2020, from complications caused by Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's. The son of Bob and Jane Deniston, Stuart was born on March 12, 1941, in Chicago. He lived in Flossmoor until 2018, when he moved to Carmel,
Indiana. He graduated from Bloom High School, and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Stuart was vice-president of the Deniston Company until his retirement in 2016.
Stuart was a fan of all Chicago sports teams. He loved to play Chicago tour guide for family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in Osakis, MN and Eagle River, WI. Stuart had interests in photography, astronomy, history, and genealogy. He instilled a passion for learning in his daughters. Stuart’s friends were important to him and he remained close with many of them throughout his life.

Stuart was preceded in death by his wife Nancy L. (Buckman) Deniston, his brother, Douglas Deniston, and in-laws Alison (Badgett) Deniston, Kathie (O’Connor) Deniston, Mary Jo (Buckman) Dwyer, William Buckman and Thomas Buckman, along with son-in-law Brian Rumsey. He is survived by his wife Vera Deniston, his brother Andrew Deniston, his daughters, Courtenay Deniston-Rumsey, Sharon (Brian) Gratigny, and Virginia (Andrew) Iverson, his grandchildren Richard, Connor, Paige, Van, and Rita Mae, and over 25 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and nephews.
To preserve safety measures during the pandemic, Stuart’s memorial service will take place the summer of 2021. Donations in honor of Stuart may be sent to The Nature Conservancy at https://www.nature.org/en-us/.
