FLOSSMOOR, IL — Ghosts and ghouls, witches and warlocks—get ready. Flossmoor can't wait for you to take to the streets in search of sweets. Halloween will fall on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021.
Trick-or-treating hours in Flossmoor will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Here are some safety tips for caregivers to ensure a spooky good time for all:
- A responsible adult should accompany young children.
- If your older children are going alone, plan and review a route acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time children should return home.
- Teach your children never to enter a stranger's home or car.
- Instruct children to travel only in familiar, well-lit areas and stick with their friends.
- Tell your children not to eat any treats until they return home, and take care to avoid any food allergies.
- Children and adults are reminded to put electronic devices down, keep heads up and walk, don't run, across the street.
While trick-or-treating is just one way to celebrate the holiday, there are other options, including pumpkin patches and corn mazes. To help decide which to visit, Patch compiled a list of the best ones in the area.
