HUNTLEY, IL — A Crystal Lake couple who own the Huntley Dairy Mart are due in court on Tuesday after they were charged with multiple crimes last week, including child pornography and child endangerment charges, according to court records.

Christopher Hopp, 38, faces criminal charges including two counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of production of child pornography, two counts of unauthorized video recording, possession with intent to deliver psilocybin, unlawful possession of psilocybin, four counts of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID, possession of ammunition without a FOID and two counts of child endangerment.

Hopp is the focus of Tuesday's hearing after prosecutors deemed him to be a "threat" to minor children based on the specific child pornography charges filed against him. Prosecutors said that Hopp also secretly recorded at least two videos of a teen girl while she was naked, either in her bedroom or in the bathroom. Court documents show the girl did not know she was being recorded while she was changing her clothes.

As the owner of the Huntley Dairy Mart, which employs teenage girls and is frequented by minor children regularly, Hopp should not be spending time with minor children, prosecutors said in a motion to alter bail.

Corinne E. Breskovich, 42, of Crystal Lake, faces charges of two counts of child endangerment, four counts of possession of a firearm without a FOID, possession of ammunition without a FOID, possession with intent to deliver psilocybin and unlawful possession of psilocybin.

Prosecutors said that Hopp was growing psilocybin mushrooms in the basement of his house and also had guns accessible to minor children, ages 6 and 16, living in the home.

According to the criminal complaint, Hopp was in possession of psilocybin mushrooms and psilocybin mushroom seeds, totaling 236 grams. All the mushrooms and seeds were recovered after police executed a search warrant on the couple’s Crystal Lake home.

Police also recovered a scale, numerous mason jars, and approximately $2,000 in cash near the psilocybin products. They also found Breskovich and Hopp in possession of a Taurus PT22 pistol, a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, a Remington 22 long rifle, and a Ruger 357 magnum, according to the criminal complaint. Ammunition for the firearms was also recovered.

The Dairy Mart is closed temporarily and is scheduled to re-open in the spring.

Hopp was released from custody last week after posting $40,000 cash (10 percent of his $400,000 bond) and Breskovich was released after posting $15,000 cash (10 percent of her $150,000 bond), court records show.
