When Does School Start in District 158?

Parents, the end is almost here.

 

Consolidated School District 158’s first day of school is Aug. 22 for grades 1 to 12 and Aug. 23 for kindergarten. While it may be good news for parents, there’s a lot to be done to prepare for the new school year.

D158 officials gathered some vital information for families as children head back to school:

  • Physical exam and immunization forms

The forms must be submitted to the school Health Office for every child entering Preschool, Kindergarten, grade 6, or grade 9 prior to the first day of school or the child will not be allowed to begin school. It is advised to mail the forms.

  • Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Applications for the 2012-13 school year will be available online after July 25, 2012. Forms can be downloaded from the district's website at or can be completed at the District 158 Administration Office. Completed forms should be sent to the District 158 Administrative Office at 650 Academic Drive, Algonquin, Il., 60102. Please mark your envelope Attention: Food Services. Submit application for processing no later than Wednesday, Aug. 15 so the district can determine eligibility prior to the first day of school. The district cannot guarantee that forms received after Aug. 15 will be processed in time for the first day of school.

  • Milk Break

Milk Break for the first semester (grades K-5) will begin on Monday, Aug. 27. We ask that payments be made no later than Aug. 22 to ensure your child receives milk on the first day of Milk Break. The form is available on the district’s website or payment can be made online via the District Web Store.

  • Bus Routes

Parents can access bus routes through the E-Link system. You can log in to the E-Link system at www.district158.org/bus-routes using the password you were given last year. If you have misplaced your student’s E-Link password or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the district Transportation Department at 847-659-3000.
