• Jacksonville-area police news for Dec. 16, 2025 (myjournalcourier.com) — Jacksonville police logged several arrests Sunday, including criminal trespass, driving with a suspended license, and a warrant arrest, along with a traffic citation after a Walnut Street crash. Officers also responded to disturbances, a stolen car on Lincoln Avenue, and reports of property damage and appliance theft, offering a clear snapshot of recent neighborhood safety concerns.
   

• Prairieland United Way to host grant pre-allocation meeting (myjournalcourier.com) — Nonprofits serving Morgan, Scott, Cass and northern Greene counties need to attend a Prairieland United Way pre-allocation meeting at 9 a.m. Jan. 15 in the Jacksonville Municipal Building. Groups must bring key tax-exempt, governance, nondiscrimination and financial documents to stay eligible for grants that support dozens of programs helping tens of thousands of area residents.
   

• Schuyler County Deputies Arrest Jacksonville Man on Thursday Wanted in Three Counties (wlds.com) — A Jacksonville resident has been arrested in Schuyler County on multiple outstanding warrants from Cass, Morgan, and Pike counties, including serious felony charges. Authorities say the man remains jailed in Rushville while courts sort out probation violations, unpaid fines, and alleged vehicle theft and drug offenses tied to earlier incidents across the region.
