2 Shot On Ruby Street Near JD's Lounge: Joliet Police
Joliet police responded to the Ruby Street shooting during the wee hours of the morning.

JOLIET — Joliet police said a 29-year-old woman was shot after 4:30 a.m. on Father's Day outside the JD's Private Lounge establishment on Ruby Street. Later, officers learned that a 31-year-old man who was also shot near JD's Private Lounge, and he arrived at St. Joe's hospital in a private vehicle rather than calling the Joliet Fire Department.
According to Joliet police's Dwayne English, at 4:38 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 200 block of Ruby Street for a report of a person who was shot.
Officers found a 29-year-old woman on the sidewalk with a non-life-threatening graze gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department.

While officers were at the hospital talking with the shooting victim, they learned that a 31-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm had also arrived at the hospital.
It is believed that both victims were struck by gunfire while standing on the sidewalk near JD’s Private Lounge, 229 Ruby St., English said.

Officers at the scene conducted an extensive canvas of the area. Other people at the scene of the shooting were uncooperative with Joliet police, English stressed.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and the shooter has not been captured, yet.
