80 Gunshots Fired On Mall Loop Drive, Hampton Inn Hit By Bullets:

JOLIET — On Saturday night, someone fired more than 80 gunshots in Joliet, and although their bullets didn't harm anybody, the Hampton Inn near the Louis Joliet Mall sustained damage, police said.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 11 p.m., officers responded to Motel 6 at 3551 Mall Loop Drive for a report of shots fired. Officers found over 80 spent shell casings on the ground near the entrance of the motel’s parking lot. It was discovered that the exterior of the nearby Hampton Inn at 3355 Mall Loop Drive had been struck by gunfire multiple times.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, according to English.
