Now that Contreras has pleaded guilty to multiple felonies and received his sentence for summer of 2022 crimes, he's also resigned as the Joliet Township Supervisor. This marks the third conviction for driving under the influence in three different Midwest states for Contreras.

On Tuesday evening, at a special meeting, Joliet Township government chose Alicia Morales to replace Contreras as the township's elected supervisor.
