3 Arrests Made In Bizarre Joliet Home Invasion On Cowles Ave
Joliet police determined multiple suspects forced entry into the west side house while announcing themselves as police officers.

JOLIET — Four months after Joliet Patch broke the news surrounding the arrest of a suspect police said falsely posed as a cop with a tactical vest and fired a gun inside the victim's kitchen, the Joliet Police Department has issued a press release revealing that all three of their suspects are now incarcerated in Will County's Jail.
They are:
Imer Resumovic, 37, of Chicago, who faces two counts of home invasion and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

In April, Joliet Patch published a story headlined, "Fake Cop' In Joliet With Tactical Vest Fires Gun In Kitchen: JPD." The story noted how Imer Resumovic was also charged in Chicago for carrying 97 pieces of mail and forging a US Postal Service master key, prosecutors noted.
In Wednesday's press release, Joliet Police Spokesman Dwayne English issued the following details of the three out of town arrests:

- On April 1, at 5:06 a.m., Joliet police responded to the 600 block of Cowles Avenue for a home invasion.
- Multiple suspects forced their way into Joliet's near west side house while announcing themselves as police.
- Some of the suspects were wearing law enforcement style body armor vests, and at least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun. Three men and one woman were at the residence at the time of the incident.
- During the home invasion, one of the male victims confronted the armed suspect, later identified as Resumovic by police. A struggle ensued over the handgun that Resumovic possessed, causing multiple rounds to be discharged. No people were struck by the gunfire. The victim gained control of the gun and began striking Resumovic in the head, according to police.
- The suspects then ran from the house, and two of them stole the victim’s Audi S5 sedan.
- Resumovic, on the other hand, was captured by Joliet police hiding under a vehicle in a nearby alley, and he was placed into custody.
- The discharged gun was recovered from the house. The stolen vehicle was later located in Chicago.
- During the investigation, Joliet's detectives identified Pedroza and Brenner as additional suspects in the home invasion. Arrest warrants for Pedroza and Brenner were obtained on June 7.
- Pedroza was located and placed into custody by the US Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force in Chicago on June 21. Brenner was taken into custody in Chicago by the same task force on Monday of this week.
