Automatic Gun Recovered From Operation Streetsweeper Defendant: JPD
Joliet's officers say they saw a handgun on the floorboard next to Donnell Brown's feet in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

JOLIET — Ten days after the Joliet Police Department revealed during a press conference that 20-year-old Donnell Brown was captured as part of the Operation Streetsweeper initiative, Joliet police captured Brown once again. Brown continued to possess a fully automatic gun, the arrest reports show.
According to Sunday's press release from Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, Brown was taken back to the Will County Jail, this time on charges of unlawful possession of guns, armed violence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and violation of pre-trial release.
At 2:48 pm. Saturday, English said officers conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Fusion in the 1300 block of Waverly Place for a suspended registration. The driver was identified as Dakota Morris, 23, of Joliet, and Brown was a passenger.

Officers recovered the loaded handgun from the vehicle and determined that the handgun appeared to have been modified with a switch, allowing the handgun to be fired automatically.
Brown was also arrested on September 4, at the same location and was found to be in
possession of a handgun modified with an automatic switch as part of “Operation
Streetsweeper.”
As for Morris, the 23-year-old was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and was released at the scene.
