Bob Skinner, Owner Of Joliet's Mike More Miles, Formerly Merlin, Dies

JOLIET — A well-known Joliet business owner, Bob Skinner, died this past weekend at his home in Morris. He was 60. According to the obituary from Farkas Funeral Home in Joliet, Skinner died peacefully on Saturday at his home "with his loving family at his side."

According to the funeral notice, "Bob was the owner and operator of Mike More Miles, formerly Merlin in Joliet, for more than 20 years. He enjoyed Drag Racing, anything NHRA, his motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidsons, and attending and participating in many car shows. He also had a passion for wizards, swords, skulls and all things medieval. Bob was a generous, loving, kind-hearted person who would do anything for anyone, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him."

There will be a memorial car show on Bob’s birthday, Tuesday, August 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, and "participation in the car show is strongly encouraged," the funeral home announced. Farkas Funeral Home is at 3201 West Jefferson Street in Joliet.

If you are participating in the car show, please have your car in place before 3:30 p.m., the obituary noted.
