Breast-Grabber Jailed: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man was jailed Wednesday for allegedly grabbing a neighbor’s breast in August, police said.

Ronald “Hawkeye” Hawkins, 56, was arrested on charges of criminal sexual abuse and battery.

Hawkins allegedly grabbed the breast of a 31-year-old woman. Hawkins and the woman live on the same floor of a North Bluff Street public housing building.

The woman sought and obtained a protective order against Hawkins two days after the alleged incident. In her petition for the protective order, she said Hawkins showed up at her apartment door and asked if she wanted any cookies or candy.

“I said sure,” the woman said. “I went back out of my apartment to go to his to get the candy and cookies. I was standing in front of his apartment door and Ronald came out and grabbed my breast. Ronald told me to come back later for some more and I said, ‘No.’”

The woman said she returned to her own apartment but Hawkins followed and knocked on her door.

“I didn’t answer because I was crying, afraid and shooken up, nervous and scared,” she said. “When my husband got home from work we went to the police department and filed” a report.

Hawkins’ bond was set at $15,000.
