The repairs should be finished by Saturday afternoon.

JOLIET, IL — The right lane of the southbound Interstate 55 bridge crossing the railroad tracks south of Arsenal Road was closed Friday for repairs.
The repairs were scheduled to start Saturday morning and are hoped to be completed by 2 p.m. that day.
The bridge is about four miles south of Channahon and twice that distance from Interstate 80.

Drivers can expect delays, according to a statement released by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
“A recommended detour will direct southbound I-55 traffic to travel west on I-80 and south on Illinois 47 to rejoin with I-55 in Dwight,” IDOT suggested.
